RoHGIS. Settlements in the Kingdom of Romania (1904-1913) a WHG dataset Hide Show Detail

The Settlements in the Kingdom of Romania (1904-1913), as part of the RoHGIS project, represent a dataset that includes the urban and rural settlements existing during the period between the date of entry into force of the Law for the Organization of Rural Communes and the Administration of Sub-districts ("plăși") (May 1, 1904) and the date of entry into force of the Law for the Organization of New Dobrogea (April 1, 1913). The general purpose of the RoHGIS initiative is to create a historical-geographical database of the territories inhabited by Romanians, along with a coherent and standardized system for administrative, social and landownership structures as working tools for other projects: scientific research, education, cartography or support for archives and libraries. This database aims to inventory permanent settlements of any type existing in the Kingdom of Romania between 1904 and 1913, regardless of their legal administrative status
